Relaxation UK run free Relaxation Clubs. These are educational and are delivered over Zoom webinars or Zoom meeting platforms. At these free online meetings a team member will explain and teach one or more relaxation techniques. Attendees can either have a go at using them or can just observe them being demonstrated. The team also run Meditation Clubs using the same format.
The clubs are provided for general education and wellbeing purposes only. They do not constitute medical, psychological or other professional healthcare advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Please consider whether any relaxation, meditation or mindfulness technique is appropriate for you. Some techniques may lower blood pressure or heart rate. If you have low blood pressure, experience dizziness or fainting, have a physical or mental health condition, are pregnant, or are receiving treatment or medication, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before taking part.
Participation is voluntary: remain within your personal comfort and physical limits, and do not force your breathing, posture or attention.
Practise only in a safe setting and never while driving, operating machinery or undertaking an activity requiring your full attention. Afterwards, allow yourself time to become fully alert. If seated or lying down, sit upright first and then stand up slowly and carefully. Stop if you experience pain, dizziness, faintness, breathlessness, distress or any other adverse reaction, and seek appropriate professional advice or assistance where necessary.
